Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage (RLD)

I hold the Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage Practitioner Certificate – an award winning reflexology technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet.

RLD is a technique which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet. I use a unique sequence and specific techniques which have been researched and developed by Sally Kay BSc (Hons) whilst working in Cancer Care. Sally was awarded the FHT Excellence in Practice Award 2012 for research and development into Reflexology Lymph Drainage.

Breast cancer – Approximately 20% of breast cancer patients develop secondary lymphoedema following treatment. Lymphoedema is defined as tissue swelling due to the failure of lymph drainage.

As the lymphatic reflexes are stimulated in the feet, the aim is to cause an effect within the lymphatic system in the body. Swelling should reduce within the affected area. Studies have shown that with repeated treatments of Reflexology Lymph Drainage the fluid build up does not return to the maximum level experienced by the client.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD) is used to treat other conditions as well as lymphoedema. RLD is used in much the same way. MLD may be useful with the following conditions:

Arthritis, Asthma, Eczema, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, ME, Sinus Problems, Migraines, Headaches, Muscular Tensions, Aches and Pains, Premenstrual Syndrome.

More information on RLD can be obtained from RLD website – http://www.reflexologylymphdrainage.co.uk/
