Foot Reflexology

Reflexology
I am a Clinical Reflexologist and I obtained the Centralia Reflexology Mastership incorporating Agored Cymru Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Practitioner Reflexology.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy which promotes good health by working pressure points on the feet, face and hands that correspond to different organs, glands or structures in the body. By applying gentle pressure specific points in an accurate and well formulated manner we believe that we are working indirectly with each and every area of the body. By doing so our aim is to help create the conditions in which our clients own powerful healing system can work to the best of its ability’.

Origins

Reflexology is an ancient healing art dating back to Egyptian and Chinese civilisations and was introduced to the Western world during the 1930’s by Eunice Ingham. She  used ‘zone therapy’ which showed that the reflexes on the feet were an exact mirror image of the whole body.

How it works

Reflexologists works on the principle that illness occurs when there are blockages in the body’s energy channels. The Reflexologist feels these blockages and applies pressure movements on these areas which in turn helps to disburse the congestion, improving blood circulation, lymph flow and returning the body systems to a state of natural equilibrium and harmony.

Reflexology brings about a state of balance and deep relaxation, which re-vitalises, detoxifies and stimulates the immune system, which in turn encourages self-healing. The skill of the Reflexologist helps to encourage the body to its natural state of balance and harmony and to encourage the body’s own healing processes, physically, mentally and emotionally.

How can Reflexology help you?

Because reflexology addresses the whole body rather than individual symptoms, it can help with numerous ailments that are acute as well as chronic and it works alongside conventional medicine. Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose or cure but we can help a person better manage life’s challenges and help to rebalance the mind and body. In short, it can provide an antidote to life’s stresses and strains which are so often at the route of illness, loss of energy and a loss of zest for life.
